Occupying that nocturnal sonosphere inhabited by ghosts, echoes and disembodied voices, Unreal by Dizzcock is a somnambulant, urban homage, veering towards eerie utopia. "While making this album, I often thought of a person riding a motorbike through a city at night and listening to my music," says Dizzcock. Unreal champions melodies, samples - for instance, there are samples from computer games and revving motorbikes - and a firm focus on the dance floor, with clean, clear structures and a focus on bass. Dizzcock is the Prague-based musician, activist and journalist Ondřej Běliček whose solo project equally draws from his other musical activities - the lo-fi noise/techno band Lightning Glove - as well as his affinity for footwork, grime and trap.
